Dear All,

This is a new 'thread' which can be woven in with others in a next phase, if
it attracts commentaries.

I suggest that hypocrisy is second-order or iterated disinformation.
Disinformers who hide their role, are ipso facto hypocrites. My classic text
is Edward Gibbon's Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire in which the key
exemplar is Caligula. In CNN today, Republicans are perfectly (sic) aware
that Trump did what he is accused of; they just don't care, and pretend the
contrary. According to Gibbon, "Caligula, at an early age, put on the mask
of hypocrisy and never after that took it off." Any reference to current
events, and petty tyrants like Caligula, is entirely intentional.

Best wishes,

Joseph
