I learned only today that Rafael had left us in May (via Joe Brenner's 
contact).

Rafael was one of the earliest members of this list, where he has left a 
number of relevant contents (see fis archives at https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://fis.sciforum.net/__;!!D9dNQwwGXtA!StHfCqr_lwpkzpob8rXOxPnsYgwdeIDNR_4X0vwYs8VOSZCC1RL0h95kCxX5gbPmYpPzYnjZc6o7_CwyhBSQo867lnI9$  ).

He was a gifted philosopher and information scholar, author of a number 
of books and seminal papers (see https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.capurro.de/home-eng.html__;!!D9dNQwwGXtA!StHfCqr_lwpkzpob8rXOxPnsYgwdeIDNR_4X0vwYs8VOSZCC1RL0h95kCxX5gbPmYpPzYnjZc6o7_CwyhBSQo-lIDLwI$  ).

Particuarly remarkable was his contribution to a global dialogue on 
information ethics, and the new studies in the philosophy of information 
and phenomenological approaches to information science

A great information scholar has left us!
