Seldom people actually read outside their area. And I would not be too 
quick to discount their content.

While I agree with a good bit of reductionism is healthy, but sometimes 
it is good to look the whole or end product or goal as that influences 
the reductive process. Two stones of the same material will have vastly 
different substructures but still can weigh behave the same in most 
situations. Looking at the underbelly too long you can get lost in 
irrelevancies. The whole notion of functional state tries to avoid 
reductionism. So a mix of both is good.

By the way do you want to continue to copy to fis? My original comment 
was to you only.
