I am pleased to hear that you will be taking part.

Regarding Wolfram, I am impressed by his recent Physics Project https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.wolframphysics.org/__;!!D9dNQwwGXtA!V2iyDm_8J70wpRsuUu2GLSAWsEg0kyojGtVgRIOxN3qCrhKutsYFoV9Gycjv6aXD5Y4MAmzR7Oka6HfA4Y7sXaSt-99Yfv3f$ , which lays the ground for computational relational physics.
Carlo Rovelli has explored similar concepts in quantum physics, and earlier physicists like Weizsäcker and Wheeler also had related ideas.
However, Wolfram’s work stands out due to the consistency and scope of his program. He runs a company, and an institute focused on these questions,
and he has mobilized a big team of talented people to engage with these issues, making his project unique.
Moreover, Wolfram was one of the first to recognize the revolutionary potential of generative AI, popularize it and articulate how it works and why.

I, too, am looking forward to hearing his insights in his keynote address.

Hey Gordana,

I have LONG wanted to hear what Stephen W. would have to say about something truly ‘meaty’ like intelligence!!! I had some interactions with his organization around his ‘observer theory’ but everything seems to just come back to his claim for a cosmic Ruliad(?) . . . where I’ve yet to see truly PRACTICAL material examples of how that Ruliad would actually play out.

For me, like a few other notable intellectuals I’ve seen, he instead seems bent on simply repeating the same earlier arguments – with little well-considered comment/advance on the model’s innate limits (too bound up in purely abstract presentations).

I find this frustrating as several of these people obviously have the ‘head room’ for much deeper thought.

Perhaps this has now changed and new material is forthcoming?!
If so, I would be DELIGHTED!!! to see that advance! (and be shown to be entirely wrong and a fool!)

Of course, I will (likely) make a submission (or two) as an offering to this event . . . but in any case I will be keenly interested in what develops!!
Lastly, right now I am continuing with my AI/AGI track and have a recent workshop submission pending for ICLR 2025.
