Just to mention distinction draws in a huge ontology/domains of discourse. Distinction is both simple and complex (for us).
The book is circular and asks you to work with distinctions such as drawing circles in the plane, or rearranging the furniture in your room or rearranging the furniture in your mind. It is the case that all mathematical formal systems are based on certain already given and/or amplified distinctions such as the typography we are using. LoF is a workbook about how such structures come about. There is no way to do this except to look at what happens in your own doing. The book is not a definition of distinctions and their doing as an objective subject. There is no objective subject here. That is why a distinction is a distinction made by someone. Otherwise what would be distinct and who would know it?
Yes. This is very disturbing.
Anyone who gets what is going on in LoF should be disturbed.
Foundations fall away and you are left to find a way to be in your world without sure formal foundations.
Best,
Lou
