Dear Annette,
In the mentioned letter, they were strongly opposed to the war, but didn't mention whether to accept the consequences. The original link has been blocked. Please visit this one:

Best wishes

Dear Mark,
I support the proposal.
May I add as a small underlining of Marcin´s statement (below, from 28, 2022 8:57:10 PM) the idea to mention the letter signed by more than 6000 Russian Scientists who stated to accept the consequences (including sanctions) for their science due to their land´s aggression,
which Xueshan (in his letter from 02.03.2022 02:26) pointed us to, but which unfortunately has been deleted now (I do not want to imagine how its subscribers are now probably suffering for having raised their voice for worldwide understanding and respectful collaboration!)?
Maybe somebody still has the text as a copy?
I think it is important to avoid any polarization tendencies and to emphasize the positive aspects of humanity, remembering brave and peace-supporting engagement without borders.
Kind regards,
Annette

Dear Colleagues,
I would like to suggest a positive approach in supporting Ukraine in its hard
situation. Namely, I suggest providing free-of charge membership in the IS4SI for
some of our colleagues in Ukraine. Some of us know worthy researchers in Ukraine
who do research related to information philosophy, theory and practice. Let us
form a combined list of these researchers, discuss this list with the Board and
then send official IS4SI invitation letters to the approved researchers.
In this letter, we can also express our attitude to this aggression.
Sincerely,
Mark Burgin

Dear Joseph, Dear Friends,
I support your proposal with my heart and my reason.
This protest is not against any individual researcher, no matter what their
nationality is. It is against unprovoked actions of the Russian government and
military threatening peace in the entire world, against actions bringing harm,
death and suffering to innocent people of Ukraine.
Regards,
Marcin

Dear Mark, Dear Marcin, Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Today Switzerland gave up its otherwise precious neutrality, and two major sports
organizations, FIFA and the International Olympic Committee, excluded Russian
members and athletes. The Russian Director and Conductor of the prestigious
Verbier Music Festival in Switzerland was fired.
Many of us have positions in and relations to Russian scientific bodies and
publications as authors, editors, reviewers and publishers. The question is
whether individually or collectively, these relations should be terminated. The
argument can be made that this would tend to be a hardship for and isolate our
friends in Russia even further. For me, the counterargument is that any pressure
that makes the Russian regime less viable internationally and, temporarily,
isolated should be exerted.
We are fortunate in having Mark Burgin and Marcin Schroeder at the head of our
initiatives. Before making any moves, given their direct knowledge of that part
of the world, I ask them for their guidance.
Thank you and best wishes to all,
Joseph
