[Fis] TOWARDS A NEW DISCUSSION SESSION

Dear FIS Colleagues,

Once the echos of the NY Lecture are over, we are going to start another 
discussion session. It will deal with "Phenomenology, Life, and 
Information Science". In this case the session will be pretty complex, 
as it will involve five different visions or interpretations:


- Maxine Sheets-Johnstone: from Biology
- Louis H. Kauffman: from Mathematics
- Soeren Brier: from Bio/Cybersemiotics
- Alex Hankey: from Physics
- Plamen L. Simeonov: with a challenging subject in integrative medicine

Plamen himself (member of our list) will moderate the discussions. 
Actually the presenters belong to the large community of authors who 
participated in the 2015 JPBMB Special Issue on Integral Biomathematics: 
Life Sciences, Mathematics and Phenomenological Philosophy. Most of the 
authors are joining the list for this discussion (and from a couple of 
related projects as well). That means that quite a few dozen new parties 
are joining our list. Self-contention in the number of messages posted 
will be highly necessary, particularly during the first weeks. The 
recommendation is just one message per week, except presenters and 
moderator. Later on we will see, for quite probably we will return soon 
to the customary two messages (anyhow, it is recommended but not 
compulsory).

The discussion will start next week with Maxine's biologically rooted 
views, after Plamen's general introduction to the session. The whole 
discussion session is planned for three months (around 30 May end), with 
3 weeks or so devoted to each topic. We all will try that it runs 
smoothly... It will be quite exciting an experiment!
