[INMA-DOCTORES] Consideraciones incorporación RyC 2025 y novedades RyC 2026/Key Considerations for the 2025 RyC Onboarding and 2026 Program Updates

Estimado personal investigador:

Como probablemente sepáis ya, tras la publicación de la propuesta de resolución provisional de la convocatoria Ramón y Cajal (RYC) 2025, la Universidad de Zaragoza y el CSIC han comunicado cierta información y alguna novedad de cara a la incorporación de los investigadores/as seleccionados que queríamos poner en vuestro conocimiento antes de irnos de vacaciones:

UNIZAR ( <https://investigacion.unizar.es/ > Convocatoria 2025) 

*Mejora Salarial: Como novedad este año UNIZAR ofrece una retribución de 39.717,24 € brutos/año, lo que supone un incremento de casi 3.000 € sobre el mínimo de la convocatoria.

*Financiación adicional: Se otorga una ayuda para investigación de 50.000 € (general) o hasta 100.000 € en casos de atracción de talento, de la cual se puede destinar hasta un 20% a complemento salarial.

*Colaboración docente: Se permite una colaboración de hasta 100 horas anuales, siempre a petición propia y con aprobación del departamento.

CSIC (Convocatoria 2025)

*Compromiso inmediato para el Primer Decil: Como novedad este año, el CSIC permite confirmar la admisión y firmar un documento de compromiso inmediato a aquellos candidatos/as que se encuentren en el primer decil de su subárea. El objetivo es agilizar su captación frente a otras instituciones.

*Ayudas de Atracción y Excelencia: Los seleccionados en los dos primeros lugares de cada área temática pueden acceder a las ayudas "Atracción de Talento CSIC RYC2025" (hasta 100.000 € con cofinanciación de centro) y a las "Ayudas Excelencia RYC-MaX" (hasta 300.000 €) 

Por otra parte, la convocatoria del programa Ramón y Cajal para 2026 cuyo plazo de solicitud es de 10/11/2026 a 10/12/2026 presenta grandes novedades. Esta transformación está orientada a fortalecer la carrera investigadora y alinear el sistema español con los estándares europeos.

Las 5 grandes novedades de la convocatoria 2026:

1.	Financiación de un proyecto propio de I+D+i: Cada ayuda incluirá, además del salario, fondos para ejecutar un proyecto de investigación de 5 años de duración. 
2.	Entrevista en el proceso de evaluación: Se incorpora una entrevista con comisiones técnicas como parte esencial de la evaluación, siguiendo el modelo del Consejo Europeo de Investigación (ERC). 
3.	Incentivos por participar en el ERC: Se ofrecen incrementos en la cofinanciación del salario (entre el 10% y el 30%) para quienes soliciten ayudas del ERC y alcancen determinadas calificaciones o fases.
4.	Estabilización obligatoria: La creación de un puesto de trabajo permanente por parte de la entidad beneficiaria pasa a ser un requisito obligatorio para cumplir con la ayuda. 
5.	Integración y simplificación de programas: La nueva Ramón y Cajal absorbe los objetivos de otras ayudas anteriores. Se suprime la convocatoria de Consolidación Investigadora y desaparece la ayuda específica de atracción de talento, ya que ambas quedan cubiertas por el nuevo modelo. Además, quienes obtengan la ayuda recibirán automáticamente el certificado R3 como investigador/a establecido/a.

Dear Researchers,

As you may already know, following the publication of the provisional resolution for the Ramón y Cajal (RYC) 2025 call, the University of Zaragoza and CSIC have shared updates regarding the onboarding process for successful candidates. We would like to bring these to your attention:

UNIZAR ( <https://investigacion.unizar.es/ > Convocatoria 2025) 

            *Salary Improvement: As a new feature this year, UNIZAR offers a gross annual compensation of €39,717.24, which represents an increase of nearly €3,000 over the minimum call requirement.

         *Additional Funding: An additional research grant is provided (€50,000 general grant, or up to €100,000 in talent attraction cases), of which up to 20% can be allocated as a salary top-up.

         *Teaching Collaboration: Researchers may collaborate on teaching duties for up             to 100 hours per year, strictly upon request by the researcher and subject to departmental approval.

CSIC (2025 Call)

         *Immediate Commitment for Top-Decile Candidates: As a new update this year, CSIC allows candidates ranked in the top decile of their subfield to confirm admission and sign an immediate commitment agreement. The aim is to streamline their recruitment ahead of other institutions.

         *Attraction and Excellence Grants: Selected candidates can apply for the "CSIC   RYC2025 Talent Attraction" grants (up to €100,000 co-funded by the Host Center) or the "RYC-MaX Excellence Grants" (up to €300,000 for the top two candidates in each thematic field).

Furthermore, the 2026 Ramón y Cajal call (application window open from 10/11/2026 to 10/12/2026) introduces major updates. This restructuring aims to strengthen research careers and align the Spanish system with European standards.

The 5 major updates for the 2026 call:

1.    Funding for an Independent R&D&i Project: In addition to salary coverage, each grant will include funding to execute a 5-year research project.

2.    Interview Stage in Evaluation: An interview with technical panels is being introduced as an essential part of the evaluation process, following the European Research Council (ERC) model.

3.    Incentives for ERC Participation: Salary co-funding increases (ranging between 10% and 30%) are offered to candidates who apply for ERC grants and reach specific stages or benchmark scores.

4.    Mandatory Tenure Track / Permanent Position: Creating a permanent position by the host institution is now a mandatory requirement to satisfy the conditions of the grant.

5.	Integration and Streamlining of Programs: The new Ramón y Cajal program absorbs the objectives of previous grant schemes. The "Consolidación Investigadora" call has been discontinued, and the dedicated talent attraction grant has been removed, as both are now covered under this new model. Additionally, grant recipients will automatically receive the R3 certificate as an established researcher.
