Dear friends,

It is a pleasure to announce the 2021 ESpinRed School on Spintronics, organized by ESpinRed, the Spanish Network on Spintronics.
The Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Magnetics Society and the Spanish Club of Magnetism collaborate with the organization and promotion of the school.

The Spanish Network on Spintronics was started in 2017 and officialize in 2018 by the Spanish Fundin Agency for Research (AEI) to allow and propmote synergies among research groups active on the subject along our whole country, following the stream of the SpinTronicFactory in the European realm.

One of the objectives of the Network, since the conception was to organize specialized courses to form future doctors and researchers in the field, and to enhance interactions between nodes of the community.
Research on magnetism has a long tradition in Spain, dating back to the beginning of the XXth century, with the seminal contributions of Professor Blas Cabrera and his disciples. Spintronics is one of the most modern branches of magnetism, with application success already in the global market, and great horizons for future developments.

The course offers a basic introduction to Spintronics, including the following subjects.
We are really glad to count with a group of lecturers of the highest international excellence:

Intro
Jairo Sinova (U. Mainz) - Why Spintronics
Jose Mª de Teresa (CSIC-U Zaragoza) - Spin dependent transport: GMR and TMR
Félix Casanova - (CIC-Nanogune) Spin injection

Magnetization Dynamics
Tim Mewes (U Alabama) - Magnetization Dynamics and Damping (IEEE-MS Distinguished Lecture)
Ferrán Macià (U Barcelona) - Spin Waves Spintronics
Adriana Figueroa (CIN2) - Ferromagnetic resonance

Spin orbit coupling
Sergio O. Valenzuela (CIN2) - Spin Orbit interactions and Spin Hall effects
To be confirmed - STT and SOT oscillators
Myriam Aguirre (CSIC-U Zaragoza) - Spin Caloritronics

Spin textures
André Thiaville (U Paris Saclay - CNRS) - DM interactions and 3D skyrmions
Kyrsten von Bergmann (U Hamburg) - Skyrmions in atomically thin films
Agustina Asenjo (CSIC) - MFM techniques and spin textures
María Vélez (U Oviedo) - Topological Charges and Emergent Fields

Emerging materials for spintronics: oxides, 2D systems, etc
Stephan Roche - (CIN2) - Graphene and 2D Spintronics
Luis Hueso - (CIC-Nanogune) - Molecular Spintronics
Manuel Bibes - () - Oxide Spintronics
Tomas Jungwirth - (U Nottingham) - Antiferromagnetic spintronics

Yoo Von Kim - () - Theoretical Spintronics - micromagn. & beyond
Lucia Aballe - () - Synchrotron microscopies on spintronics
To be confirmed - Basic blocks for biologically-inspired computation
To be confirmed - Ultrafast and THz spintronics

Schedule
The dates of the sessions are:
17, 19, 21, 24, 26, 28 and 31st May 2021
Although the detailed schedule will be closed as soon as possible.
In principle, there will be 3 lectures per day at 15:00h, 16:10h and 17:30h

The School will take place fully on-line, and is supported by the AEI project MAT2017-90771-REDT
The lectures will be recorded and available online in our web page for future reference.

Registration
The registration at the 2021 ESpinRed School on Spintronics is FREE.
Please, to register complete the form at this link <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfLAbOKQCSc0UW6PHJvkU1yOVVYi6FtZUavK18TZCmgbcy5iQ/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1&flr=0>: (see below for the link text if necessary)
Participating PhD students and postdocs may present a short/flash presentation of their own work on spintronics on a dedicated session on May 31st, on a *first come first served* basis until the **limited** time slots were full. If you will to make a presentation please indicate so in the Registration form.
The organization will provide assistance certificates at the end of the course to those participants attending a majority fo the lectures.
