Datos del Programa para la Evaluación Internacional de Alumnos (PISA), en su edición de 2018, indicaban que el 27% de los alumnos de 15 años habían faltado a clase en las dos semanas anteriores a la prueba. En los países de América Latina, la situación era más preocupante: en promedio, el 46,3% de los estudiantes de esta región declararon haber faltado a clase.</span></span></p>

Abordamos esta cuestión, poco investigada, tomando Costa Rica como caso de estudio. Utilizamos un conjunto de microdatos único y exhaustivo que fusiona las características socioeconómicas de los distritos costarricenses (incluyendo información detallada de exposición al narcotráfico a través de las incautaciones de cocaína) con datos sobre estudiantes y escuelas procedentes del Programa para la Evaluación Internacional de Estudiantes (PISA)...</span></span></span></p>
